You don’t always have to use wax to recover the shine of your wooden floor. Even though these products do work, there are other ways to do the same thing that works just as well.

Best of all, it keeps the material in good shape because it removes dirt and stops stains and cracks from appearing. They are also beneficial for the environment because they are created using eco-friendly ingredients.

Do you want to bring back the shine of your wooden floor in a natural way? Then, we’ll tell you how to make wooden floors shine using natural products that make this job easier.

Recover the shine of your wooden floor with beeswax

Real natural beeswax is one thing we recommend to clean and shine wooden floors. It is a long-used product known for its incredible capacity to restore, rejuvenate, and protect even the oldest wood.

Beeswax for wood floors must be free of dust, grease, lint, and other chemical agents. A preliminary sanding is advisable if the dirt is fixed on the wood.

Once the floor is clean and dry, you must prepare it for waxing. A nice choice is to combine natural beeswax with sweet almond oil (or olive oil) and polish the floor with a mop or towel. You will immediately see how the wood becomes damp and has a brighter tone.

Allow the wax to remain for 20-30 minutes after buffing the floors to a wet look. Finally, use a towel to remove any remaining wax and polish the floor with pressure. Do this polishing following the direction of the wood grain.

White vinegar

Apple cider or white vinegar is the best natural way to get your wooden floors back to their original color and shine (the latter is more acidic than apple cider vinegar).

And to use this product correctly, mix 5 liters of hot or warm water with 2 capfuls (about 125 ml) of white or apple vinegar in a bucket or basin.

Use this homemade cleaner to scrub your wooden floors and open the windows to help them dry quickly. The mop mustn’t be too wet.

Since vinegar is a natural substance, it won’t damage or scratch this floor. On the contrary, it will keep it moist, give it nutrients, make it shine, and keep its natural color for longer. It will even make it clean.
